Working from Home is Here to Stay

In more ways than one, the pandemic changed the way we live. From where we go—or don’t go— to how our kids learn, the COVID-19 surge shook things up. One area that has been altered drastically is how we work. Gone are the days when working from home was strictly reserved for a once in a blue moon occasion. These days, working from home is the norm, with more and more companies fully transitioning to remote business models.

According to the recently released Ladders Quarterly Remote Work Report, nearly 20% of all professional jobs are now remote. Q4 2021 saw the highest number of permanently remote jobs in the US at 17 million, up from 14 million in Q3. The rate of growth is swift and shows no signs of slowing down, even two years into the pandemic.

What does that mean for American adults in the workforce? Remote jobs are a way of life, and more are expected to be added each quarter. Chances are, if you’re not working remotely right now, you may be at some point in the future. And that means you need an at home workspace that’s functional and distraction-free. Working with a laptop balanced on your lap while you sit on the couch isn’t going to cut it for your full-time professional remote position.

Make WFH work for you.

The above scenario may work for the random afternoon when you’re logging a few hours from your home, but it will do zero for your career success if it’s your day-to-day reality. When you’re working in your home on a regular basis, you need a workspace that’s productive and professional. It must also be comfortable and organized, so that each day you are set up for success. No one wants to listen to you shuffle through drawers while you’re on a conference call looking for mouse batteries, or witness a cluttered, sloppy mess in the background. Your professional image and career success are partially dependent on your home office setup.

That’s where we come in.
